To celebrate my 30th birthday I decided to visit London and Ireland and previously I spent a week in NYC. My goal with this trip was to make some dreams come true. As a graphic designer I love to make lists so here’s a list of the things I did, found out and enjoyed in London.

Me at Vivienne Westwood World’s End in Chelsea
  • I stayed in Whitechapel (the neighborhood where Jack The Ripper lived)
  • I went to my favorite place: Vivienne Westwood World’s End Store and felt in love forever, I bought the garments that I always dreamed of.
  • I got on the double decker buses
  • I went to Freddie Mercury’s home, one of my biggest dreams in life
  • I had a very special, personal and spiritual moment outside Freddie’s house, because he’s my favorite artist, my inspiration and who made me get to London, it was so touching for me
  • I bough candy at “Kingdom of Sweets”
  • Go to the National Gallery and see “The Ambassadors” and other masterpieces.
  • I walked through Piccadilly Circus
  • I bought Tesco’s stuff to eat for 1 pound
Garden Lodge (Freddie’s House)
Kingdom of sweets and a close-up of “The Ambassadors”
  • I went to ”The Vault” the museum at Hard Rock Cafe
  • My friend Aaron and his friend Yasmin came along and joined to my trip
  • We went to London Tower
  • I saw closer to the big crows
  • We’re looking for a ghost, but we didn’t succeed
  • We took a ride in a little boat at Tames River
“The Vault” at Hard Rock Cafe
  • We got up to the skyline ”The Yard”
  • I drank some tea with my friend Aaron…such a fantasy!
  • We went to fashion vintage stores at Brick Lane
  • We went to Rough Trade, obviously
  • I blended my ”Leyda Luz garments” with the vintage clothes that I bought
  • We went to the fashion stores at Oxford Circus
  • I bought again at Vivienne Westwood’s store near Oxford Circus
  • We visited Victoria & Albert Museum, Natural History Museum and Shakespeare’s Theatre
  • I went to Tate Museum at night
  • I took pictures on the street of a band at Oxford Circus
  • We went to Kensington Palace, to Princess Diana’s house
  • I saw how the people dress
  • We walked under the rain
  • We went to Harrods, a museum where you can touch the masterpieces
Oxford Circus
Kensintong Palace / Harrods
  • We ate desserts at Peggy Porschen
  • We went to Notting Hill
  • We went to Hampton Court, Henry VIII’s House
  • We heard the bells of Westminster’s Church
  • We went to St. Paul’s Cathedral
Notting Hill / Peggy Porschen / Hampton Court
  • We got back to Vivienne Westwood’s store, this time to buy a pair of earrings which I share one of them with Aaron
  • Go to Candem Town looking for bands and take pictures
  • I enjoyed my playlist which included: Pet Shop Boys, Queen, Stone Roses, The Smiths, Suede, David Bowie and other London’s bands.
Candem Town
  • I went to Wallace Gallery, the place where Vivienne got inspiration for my favorites fashion collections: “Portrait”, “Anglomania”, “Café Society” and “Vive La Cocotte”.
  • I saw with my own eyes my favorite masterpiece: Fragonard’s “The swing”
  • I was completely happy because I love the rainy days
The Wallace Gallery

This list and pictures remind me one of the places where I loved my life so much, the origins of all the things that I love: fashion, art and music. I agree with the idea that trips contribute to our personality. This trip was special for me, because I compared a decade behind and I realized that I’m the Leyda Luz that I wanted to be when I was 20.

One of my thoughts about traveling, is that I’m able to feel at home everywhere because I’m my own home and I go where I please, and obviously I want to get to London again!
